1. Delete your account in the app

The fastest way to delete your account and personal data is from inside Storybase:

• Open Storybase on the web or in the mobile app.
• Go to Account → Close account.
• Confirm. Your account is deactivated immediately and your personal data is queued for deletion.

Prefer not to use the in-app flow, or no longer have access to your account? Email us from the address on your account and we'll process the request:

3. What gets deleted

When your deletion request is processed, we permanently remove:

• Your profile information (name, email address, profile photo, password).
• Your reading and listening data — notes, highlights, bookmarks, and progress.
• Your AI assistant conversations and saved entries.
• Marketing and contact preferences associated with your account.

4. What we retain, and why

A limited set of records is kept only where the law requires it or to protect against fraud:

• Transaction and tax records required for financial and legal compliance, retained for the period required by law.
• Records we must keep to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our terms.
• De-identified or aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you.

5. Timeline

Account access ends immediately. Personal data is deleted from our active systems within 30 days, and from routine backups within 90 days. We'll confirm by email once your request is complete.
