These terms cover text messages sent through Storybase by authors to readers who have opted in to receive them. They apply to that messaging program specifically.
Storybase is a platform that lets book authors stay in touch with readers who have asked to hear from them. When you claim or buy a book through Storybase, the author of that book may send you text messages if — and only if — you have separately agreed to receive them.
Each author sends from their own dedicated phone number. You are hearing from the author, not from Storybase.
Consent is collected on the author's book access form. It is a separate, unticked checkbox, distinct from any email consent, and it is never a condition of receiving the book. You are agreeing to messages from that one author.
Consent is per author. Agreeing to hear from one author does not opt you in to messages from any other author on Storybase.
Messages are triggered by your own reading activity — for example after you finish a chapter or complete a book — and typically contain a short personal note from the author and a link to a next step, such as a resource, a community, or a way to book time with them.
Message frequency varies and depends on your reading activity.
Storybase does not charge you for these messages. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from that author. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further messages from that author.
Opting out of one author's messages does not affect messages from any other author you have opted in to — each author's number is separate. To stop hearing from more than one author, reply STOP to each.
You can also remove or change your phone number at any time in your Storybase account settings.

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and network conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Supported carriers may change over time.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. A number you provide is used only to send you messages from the author you opted in to, and is shared with that author solely for that purpose. We may update these Messaging Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
