Storybase is one home for the audio and ebook editions of every book — plus the layer of reading, listening, and learning that lives around them. Readers discover, read, and listen with notes, highlights, and an AI assistant. Authors host their titles, build offers, and learn what's working.
Yes. You can sign up free with an email and password, or with Google. Some books can be sampled before you create an account, but your library, notes, and progress are tied to your account so they sync across your devices.
Storybase runs in any modern browser, as an installable web app, and as native apps for iPhone and iPad. Your library, highlights, and place in a book stay in sync — start on your phone and finish on your iPad.
On the sign-in screen, choose "Forgot password" and enter your email. We'll send a reset link. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then email hello@storybase.io.
Make sure you're using the same method you signed up with (email/password or Google). If you signed up with Google, use the "Continue with Google" button rather than a password. Still stuck? Email hello@storybase.io and we'll help recover access.
Go to Account → Email. We'll send a confirmation to the new address before the change takes effect, so the new email is always verified.
Go to Account → Close account. This removes your access and personal data — see our data deletion page for exactly what's removed and what we're required to retain.
Everything you own or have been given access to lives in your Library. Audiobooks and ebooks for the same title sit together, so you can switch between reading and listening without losing your place.
Open any book and ask the built-in assistant a question about what you're reading or listening to. Answers are grounded in the actual book. You can type or speak — your notes and ideas are saved automatically and tagged to the chapter.
In the audiobook player, Smart Scroll lets you skip, search, and rewind by the words on the page instead of dragging a time slider — great for replays and "wait, what did they just say?" moments.
Yes. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, and progress are saved to your account and follow you across every device you sign in on.
Depending on the title, a book may be available as an ebook, an audiobook, a print edition, or a bundle. Available formats are shown on each book's page.
Once a purchase completes, the book appears in your Library automatically. If you don't see it, pull to refresh, or sign out and back in to re-sync.
For purchases made directly through Storybase on the web, email hello@storybase.io and we'll review your request. For purchases or subscriptions made through an app store, refunds are handled by that app store under its own refund process.
Open Account → Subscription to see your current plan. You can manage or cancel through the same place you started the subscription — your Storybase account for web subscriptions, or your app store account for subscriptions started in a mobile app.
Start the new-book wizard from your dashboard. You can upload your ebook (EPUB) and audiobook files, set your cover, and configure pricing and offers. Our team is one email away if you get stuck.
You can share a few chapters with a friend, a podcast guest, or a lead, and build custom offers with their own pricing and landing experiences. You'll see exactly who opens, finishes, and converts.
Author earnings are paid out via Stripe. Connect your payout account from your dashboard to receive earnings from sales and, on eligible plans, ambassador revenue.
